I'm thankful I had the opportunity to coach such a wonderful team these last 4 years, and I'm truly inspired by the dedication I witnessed on a daily basis from athletes, parents, and my fellow coaches. Though I regret the abrupt end the pandemic forced on us, this feeling is quickly replaced with one of pride at everything we accomplished. I've watched hundreds of young athletes improve & mature, and can say with certainty: you've enriched my life beyond measure. I hope each of you has fond memories of our time training together, and I encourage you to remember them often.
I sincerely believe water polo teaches athletes so much more than how to swim and throw a ball. If there are two lessons I hope you carry forward, in and out of the pool, they are:
1) It's worth troubling yourself for the good of the team, because a stronger team makes each individual on it stronger - including yourself. Continue to support each other and your community. 2) You are capable of more than you think! With hard work and patience, goals that seem impossible become achievable.
Where there's an end, there's also a new beginning. Pursue your passions with vigor and never forget there are always new ways to improve!
Best Wishes, Andy Gordon
